She-Hulk Jennifer Walters Marvel

An updated version of the She-Hulk trailer, released on Disney Plus, shows improvements have already been made to the series’ CGI.

She-Hulk – now officially titled She-Hulk: Attorney at Law – introduces Tatiana Maslany to the MCU as Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner, who finds herself hulking out after a blood transfusion from her jolly jade cousin. The series will follow Jennifer, A.K.A. She-Hulk, as she pursues a legal career defending superhuman clients.

While the first trailer teased a lot of fun from a series that’s been called a “half-hour legal comedy” by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, a whole lot of pressure is put on the visual effects team of any series with a (mostly) CGI lead character. Unfortunately, fans generally weren’t impressed by the look of Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk form in the first trailer, but it looks like Marvel Studios is already addressing the issue.

When the trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law first landed online, fans were quick to point out the CGI used to create the hulked-out version of Tatiana Maslany’s character was a little less than convincing. Questions were raised over whether or not the CGI in the trailer was even the final product – it is not unusual for Marvel projects to use early, unfinished CG shots in their trailers, only for the more polished version to appear in the final product.

While it is not clear whether the visual effects in the first trailer were simply unfinished, or if Marvel Studios simply listened to fan concerns and worked quickly to address them, a new version of the trailer has been shared on Disney Plus. As seen in the images below, the Disney Plus version of the trailer shows a sharper, more detailed CG She-Hulk, with more texture to her skin and finer detail seen in her hair. The overall effect is far more convincing than seen in the initial version of the trailer. Check out the comparisons below:

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law won’t hit Disney Plus until August – after Ms. Marvel lands on the streaming platform next month – so it’s possible Marvel Studios will still be fine-tuning the series’ CGI up until then. The release of the improved version of the trailer so soon after the original just goes to show that such detailed visual effects work is an ongoing and fast-moving process and fans shouldn’t be too quick to judge an early glimpse of a series.
