The Mandalorian Ming-Na Wen Fennec Shand

Ming-Na Wen, who plays Fennec Shand in the Disney Plus Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett, has said she’s hoping for a Season 2 announcement soon.

Ming-Na Wen first appeared as Fennec Shand in the first season of The Mandalorian before going on to appear in The Book of Boba Fett and even making it into the animated series The Bad Batch. It sounds like the actress is anticipating her next Star Wars appearance soon.

Ming-Na Wen recently revealed she is hoping the second season of The Book of Boba Fett will be her next project, saying an announcement should be on the way soon.

Appearing at Fan Expo Boston, Ming-Na Wen was asked what she’s going to be working on next and the actress named the Star Wars series’ second season as her most likely next role.

The first season of The Book of Boba Fett revealed how Temuera Morrison’s take on Star Wars‘ most legendary bounty hunter had found the wounded Fennec Shand on Tatooine and got her cybernetically healed up. Fennec went on to assist Boba as he took Jabba the Hutt’s place as crime lord of Mos Espa.

When asked at Fan Expo if she had any upcoming projects she was excited to be working on, Ming-Na Wen said:

“Second season of The Book of Boba Fett, I hope! I’m not sure, so I never count my chickens before they hatch, because in this business, we just never know. But, knock on wood, they’ll be announcing that soon.”

If an announcement is coming soon, next month’s Disney Plus Day could be the perfect window to confirm a new season of The Book of Boba Fett. With fan’s questioning Cad Bane’s demise in Season 1 and the finale teasing the survival of Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth, there are plenty of unanswered questions fans will be hoping to see addressed in Season 2 of the Star Wars series.

Here is the synopsis for the first season of The Book of Boba Fett:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, and Kathleen Kennedy are all executive producers on The Mandalorian spin-off with episodes directed by Rodriguez, Favreau, Filoni, and Bryce Dallas Howard. The series stars Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals.
